MYANMAR'S RICHEST..NEXT FORBES'S RICHEST LIST

Who says we make headlines only at ASEAN meetings and talks?.. Who says our nation GDP is less than that of developed nations' individuals..?

Look at the Sale terms and conditions of Sentosa Cove super luxurious living space. And it was meant for high networth individual home and abroad that Singapore is trying to attract. The contenders? Needless to say.. mega riches..Media had it that the Benz, BMW and Lexus cars were such a pity next to Rolls Royces & Lamborghinis.

It's nothing. Here we are talking about a closed door auction for 12 prime spots for bunglow. And talking about world riches sipping wines and rubbing shoulders and upped againt each other S$20,000 from based price to secure one of it.

Looking at sale brochures! And by just reading how those riches are drived to get hold of the lands. They have money. They want it fast and furious and later raised the bids in grand hundred thousands. I was amazed. I was thrilled though I was just reading the after-the-action paper.

Still it was nothing until the conclusion that 8 out of 12 winners are Singaporean and the rest were foreigner. Ok that was it. It was just like another game that the riches play with their money. Just as usual I read on to complete the news...then I was...WHAT!!!!!!!! I read again.. That piece of a sentences stood me up. I rubbed my eyes and read again. I was.. maybe I interpret wrongly... so I started to read the whole sentence again.

"Of 12 successful bidders, 8 were Singaporean and the rest were from Malaysia, India, Indonesia and MYANMAR"

Then.. My mind went busy to list the latest myanmar tycoons. Who could that be? There are no Bill Gates of Myanmar. No steel magnet. And no big corporate that worth the talk or to think. Let's just think he secured the cheapest of the lots. It's still $ 5 millions. ( 4,000,000,000 Myanmar Kyats). wow..I have just been out of the country for a decade or so ...leaving aside those foreign related or JV..
most of the business entities are family run and are not well structured..( of course well connected)..and they do this well to amass this wealth??? Can even outdo more established regional tycoons to shop around...

Well..just like most of my fellow myanmar.... in their previous life, they did many good deeds... so now they are enjoying their deeds... duh....

Guys.. do you want to buy a piece of land on an Singapore Island? Visit HEREand look at the e-brochure.

Sorry for unrelated comment. I just saw (part of) documentary about the Shan people of Myanmar on Channel News Asia. The Methodist Bishop that I met in Myanmar was also Shan, if I remember correctly.
