Hi! How're you doing? This is Sai Sai O.K or just call me "Sean" for your convenience, if you are not a Myanmar.
Thanks for reading my blog and hope I could give you something..Be it a laughter..or just a smile. Or whatever that you are looking for. All my posts solely represent my thoughts like how I see and interpret everything coming my way. I do not represent any race or community. Neither associate with any organization. My writing may not fit everyone's taste or may not be pleased all the people out there and I am not trying to make everyone to agree my point of views.
But hey.. if you find something amused, take it, have fun and smile. If you find annoying, leave it and ignore. Does anyone say he or she is writing for nothing? No, none! We are all writing with a purpose. We want to share something we know or we feel etc. etc.. So find out what mine is and shoot me comments! Appreciate much!
Well! I am not trying to confuse you by the song "The Name of the Game" and the game, monopoly. Really was I confused trying to figure out where the Singapore-Print-Media Giant, SPH is heading....
When I first took notice of its ads about it's setting up online jobs portal www.st701.com, I think nothing of it. It's just "oh! ok! maybe they are just trying to provide some value-added things to the readers by just trying to compile the job ads that its numerous papers are already carrying....
But now it is kind of launching another cash cow by SPH and it is going into HR. In my humble opinion, shouldn't it be in the hand of Professional HR Practisioners? Surely SPH would argue" Yes it is in their hand! We headhunted the industry bests to do the jobs. And just read the ads I put it up. They are conducting a fee based HR related workshops.
We should applaud them for creating income generating opportunities for professional trainers, HR practisioners but it is kind of conflict of interest. I wonder Jobstreet, JobsDb and alike would have to join hands and set up hard papers instead of putting their ads in SPH's papers. Or I won't be surprised if the free paper, TODAY classified will get thicker.
Could it be the reason why some people felt threaten to share their skills. You learn the ropes and later take away my rice bowl mentality...
I don't want to go through what the report said but don't ask me a stupid question like " true? Money can make you happy?".....
YES! Money can bring happiness to me...I will go into it later but now let me share with you about survey things.........
Basically, I don't believe surveys. Especially those stop you on the road to conduct surveys.. Come on, in broad day light and standing stupidly and answering those neither this nor that questionnaires, who the hell will give you straight out of their hearts' answers. In my personal view, those conducted online and anonymous will get more sincere and truthful results I am sure.Well at least it is true for me or even majority lots.
And you know what! people these days are smart and scheming, know the art of giving the fantastic answers to impress you and they are not necessarily true. Be it the survey on if they only bought branded undies. Or ask me if I prefer protected sex over unprotected? Wanna know my answer? Aha! I better not say....
And ask me which clubs I patronize for a night out dancing? I am sure I will shoot out the big names like.. "ZOUK", "MOS"..rather than a cool and smaller joints that I really like and go......
Well... just throw me a million or two Singapore Dollars or better still if Pound Sterling..I am sure I will be happy....
But don't package that money with stupid questions like... this money comes with an old hag....
This money comes with broken hearted widow and you gonna fulfil her lust and so on...
Not just me...... throw that money to any Tom, Dick or Harry on the street without any condition. I am sure I will not be the one who is always high on booze or boobs..Or bought an expensive sport car and go on rampage..nah.......
So...give me the money if you wanna know I will be a happier person.. Don't need survey.. I will show it to you.. a ha!
An associate dropped me off Bugis after our meeting yesterday evening...7 PM and I was hungry and tired after a long day. It's friday! wondering to ring up buddies and going out for a drink or heading home while strolling back to office.. Suddenly a strange tune with kind of from unfamiliar instruments hit my ear drums. And I saw a crowd and I just couldn't resist to join them. Oh! What an evening guys! A 5-members troupe with thier synchonized steps and beautiful musics made my day. I did not want to leave but after 3 songs I had to drag myself and went away. Of course after parting with my $23 and came with a CD.
I tell you..go take one for yourself and taste a live performance. Though the whole CD is instrumental you will love it. I have been repeating over and over again.
But until I reached home, put the CD in my home theatre system...I got no idea what is the "ANDES". From the CD cover I know it is Latin but ANDES?
As usual I google it a hummmm! there we go.... " Music of the Andes"
HELLO! Did I scare you off? Probably I guess.... Some people do and I am amazed really.
But hey! I didn't intentionally went all the way to Clark Quay, standed in front of this Pub and took this shot just to write this post.
And I don't even have any idea this shot of photos will come in handy till I think of the post title " One Night Stand"..You think it is very suggestive too. Don't you?
Haaaaaaa! I am not looking for a quick fix though. Just that I want to relate something about some unfortunate moment that can breakup friendships and some friends that overly sensitive over a joke, or put it as on some suggestive BIG words (in my view. You may choose to differ).
People! see our conversation over gtalk. XXX in my online friend and we know each other for a couple of months from mmchat. Though we don't know about each other much but considerably well enough as an online friend and very often we do throw jokes to each other.
------------------------------------- me: singapore has no season no winter XXX: come to here live with me hehe me: wow nice hehehe aren't you afraid of me i will rape you you know XXX: har dont use such words i will block u me: hahahah do it XXX: really me: yah....... if just because i use that and knowing that i am just kidding by all means block me XXX: dar so yin bye me: bye ----------------------------------------
Well! He logged off. He blocked me or not I don't really bother to check either.
I just noted that it is not not the right joke that I happened to tell not at the right time. But what a pity to lose a friend just like that!!!!!!!!!!
And when I was browsing my camera and yeah!!! I think it is the right photo and the right title to relate my feeling... and yes so far I have yet to come to term with " One Night Stand" for you information. I don't really fond of it. And just like in my conversation with XXX, look at Sunny Singapore. It is Rain or Shine throughout the year. No winter. No snow. Arr... but it is chilly you know even no snowfall nor winter here.
Even this morning in the NOVOTEL HOTEL's conference room, I was almost frozen. Me and my colleague Yanti was attending HYENA 2-half-day workshop ORGANIZED by THE INSTITUTE OF FIRE ENGINEER, SINGAPORE there.
It was a computerized hydraulic calculation program. As our firm specializes in Fire Safety Engineering, we were tasked to attended and learn the software and yes it is interesting and useful for us. After seminar, we stroll along the Singapore River boasted with many hip and chic restaurants and night spots. That's how I happened to pose in front of One Nite Stand. And yes it was empty as it's in a broad day light when we took these photos. It's lunch time. But tell you! when the sun goes down you hardly can have a seat. It's packed with multi-coloured crowds all over with the people from all over the world and locals.
I have yet to check out Crazy Horse and Ministry of Sound (MOS) there.
It's been a year since I started this blog and thanks everyone who stumbles upon and read it.
The yearly christmas decoration at Orchard Road is pretty much the same so far and nothing much to shout about. I took a shot the other day I went for an inspection somewhere there. And the night shot was taken on my way back from office. It's more lookable and gave me sort of festive mood. Well guys! To commemmorate my blog anniversary, I attempted changing the layou and colour to give you a fresher feeling to look at..
I don't know about you guys but I am quite happy with it. Thanks to Google's Blogger Team as it is pretty much easy to make a switch from older version.
This week I have quite a number of people in the news whom I admire for their achievement in their fields.
Well! basically, I admire those people make it big in their respective fields and they are under 40. Of course there are some older chaps that I look up to. Some of them are bankers. Some are Actors, Politicians. Poker Players, too. They could be from all walks of life and so my admiration do not just based upon their sound financial success but their appearance, their uniqueness or could be their contribution towards the community, their organization.
Hmmm! so! This week I have Liz Lieu, Andy Lau & a banker, Lee Hock Boon.
Let's talk about Liz Lieu first. Frankly I don't know her till recently. Singapore hosted a Poker Tournament and this acclaimed "Poker Diva" took part in the event. She was featured on the cover with the tag like "Poker Diva", " I make millions and I lost millions". Her young and stylish Asian look attracted me to know more about her. I was wondering she is being labelled Diva because she made appearance at each and every poker tournament as scantily clad models or rather a girl friend of a well known player?
Man! was I totally wrong. This Vietnam born a US girl is a pro poker player. She is young, hot and making millions playing poker. And she shares her winnings with the poor and that one of the reason I admire her.
We use to hear " Life is a gamble".. Yeah... such a meaningful gamble. Bravo Liz..
And next, Andy Lau...the one of the heavenly kings of the Hong Kong entertainment industry. I don't really understand Chinese but I like listening to Chinese soothing musics and Andy's. Being in Chinese-Majority Singapore I am no stranger to commercial fronted by Andy and his movies.
And he is beyond 40 and can you believe how he is so youthful and well-maintained? You may say he is required to do so as he is an entertainer. I totally agree and I am just putting him up as a model so everyone can related to what I am saying.. And personally he belongs to a group of people I admire.
And the last man for this week is less well-known to the industry(Banking) outsider, Mr Lee Hock Boon of ABN Amro's Van Gogh Preferred Banking.
We share the same age and that's it. Nothing else we share in common. Oh yes..size maybe. We both are kind of fat but his pocket is definitely far more fatter than mine...And while I am nobody he is already the head of the prestigious bank. So he is one that I admire. He in not one that making big riding through family fortunes but on his own hard works and under 40.
Hello! Mr. Lee if you ever stumble upon this blog...will you hire me?
You said that "it is not always about intellect. The right attitude and enthusiasm count. And that the banks are always on the lookout for people who have a willingness to serve and eagerness to make things better for their clients."
I do! I do! though I am working in different industry I am always willing and eager serving clients without effecting the bottom lines of the organizations I work for...
Oh my.....Thanks God...I dragged myself to the theatre after a hard day at work to watch "Step Up"........ The casts are beautiful and it's entertaining throughout. Not a single second that I felt bored. It is not a classic plot...but who cares..These days, I am lo0king forwards to seeing more of this kind of movies. Light and easy. No heavy drama and not so out of tune with pleasant-in-the-eyes casts. I love it. My detractors would say..Hey man! It's a movie for kids but you..Haha... whatever..I am what I am. I know what I need to make myself happy..Why would I want to load myself with craps right! Tell you that's how I stay young.. Step Up..everyone deserves a second chance...and that is the message this movie wanna tell us...
And here is my take...... to make a second chance works..a step up.. or many steps perhaps.... but go for it...as long as you don't step on your friends or any one else to make yourself good..
You know what! After watching this movie I miss the days I went dancing haha..and feel like hitting the dance floors since it's TGIF....haha.. but to look good on the dance floors I gotta hit threadmills and grab dumdbells in gym first...dont wanna be a ball rolling even I cant be the master of ballrooms...aheee..
The lead actors are rather new to me. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. Their names and appearance remind me that I have not been watching movies for ages..Well as the saying goes,"Better Late than None" haha...But as usual, I comfort myself saying "ummm.. at least I read papers regularly so that I knew about this movie making rounds at the box offices all over the places.. Hey those of you not having watched it yet...here is the TRAILER. I am sure you will like it.
Brief Review...(I google it..)--------------
Everyone deserves a chance to follow their dreams, but some people only get one shot. Tyler Gage is a rebel from the wrong side of Baltimore¹s tracks and the only thing that stands between him and an unfulfilled life are his dreams of one day making it out of there. Nora is a privileged ballet dancer attending Baltimore¹s ultra-elite Maryland School of the Arts -- and the only thing standing in the way of her obviously brilliant future is finding a great dance partner for her senior showcase. When trouble with the law lands Tyler with a community service gig at Maryland School of the Arts, he arrives as an angry outsider, until his skills as a gifted street dancer draw Nora¹s attention. Now, as sparks fly between them, both on and off stage, Tyler realizes he has just one performance to prove that he can step up to a life far larger than he ever imagined.
These days I failed to post regularly though I attempted many times. Working day in, day out really burn me out and lost all my motivation to share some interesting encounters with you guys. And since I left my 1st job I don't have a car to drive around and I commute by means of public transports. In Singapore, it is very convenient by just taking buses and trains or taxis and they are very much affordable but I think I still need a car.... I need to travel around the town frequently and hailing, waiting a cab taking up too much of my time. But then.. Nothing much has changed and still me, myself and no one else. Career wise, I take a turn and moving on to a challenging role though it is still in the same industry and I never regret it so far.
Now, my office is located at the Waterloo Street amid many artistic centres and it is rather refreshing. It is not hip and happening and neither much of powered-sharp-suited executives like Shenton Way. But what I like most is I do not need to worry much what to eat during lunch hour as there are so much things here. Cafe? Bistro? Hawker Fairs or you prefer Oriental? or there are even east-meet-west food junctions. I tell you! now I even have to think a way how to shake off my growing pot-belly haha..
And just around the corner, it is Bugis Village Street where I went for a dose of caffeine and people gazing after work. And buying some stuffs like China-imports Musics CDs and and there are so much more street fashion outlets to check out. Just look at me I look rather exhausted huh!! And kind of feeling out of place while roaming around Orchard Posh Shopping Centres.
And I don't think I ever introduce my younger brother in my blog here before yeah! So here he is...He just came back from Myanmar after spending a good one month with his family. Ya!!!! He is married with 2 kids. So... I can say I am not alone in Singapore and I have next-of-kin hahaha.. Well...I went off topic too much I guess and back to "Separation"....(HkwelHkwar Chin)..I guess it is an extract from a novel by well known author, Min Lu which I spotted on a myanmar blog, MYANMAR POSTS (in burmese). I like it so much that I can't wait to share with you guys. But bear with me if you have different view on the translation.....
"Separation"
'Be don't sad and let me tell you..'''
'It's said living apart is better off than togetherness"..Then there is hope we would be together one fine day.....'
"Being near could transform to-Separation- any time my dear.
"LIKEWISE....not in love would be more relieving than having to expect worryingly when would the time the hatred would come along'................
The title says it all I guess... I am going to dedicate this post to all my pals near and far....
Yesterday, I went to a house warming ceremony of a closest friend of mine. Shamefully to admit that I have not been able to visit him for a year except some catch-up calls( and not many times).
And actually the timing was supposingly from 10:30 am to 12:30pm. Guess what! I went there at 7pm and it was intentional. Since I had reserved my time an decidedly to go I just didn't want to be one of the crowd, that's the reason. Indeed, we had a very hearty talk. Well needless to say, on and off he got to run to attend to his 1 years old baby girl while his wife was taking her dinner. haha...His daughter shares same birth date with me...Dec the 10th.. wow.. no wonder she is sweet and cute... just like the way I look.. haha disgusting me huh..
We talked about our friends who are near and as well those are far as we lost contact. Our career. Our prospects as we are in the same industry. We talked over the tea and it was a cool 3 hours and I had to force myself to bid them good night and came home.
On the train back home, all the memories just reeled off like a movies. The time we were in university. The time after graudation and we went our separate ways leading our own lives and careers. I was drifted to Singapore alone while they (Ye Min Lwin, Zaw Min Oo, Aung Zaw Myint and Sai Htin Kyaw Oo) were ashored in Malaysia.
All were swinging bachelors( Now, only me). I miss those days. Not that I am the only one left unmarried and lonely but the fun. And we had just started out our careers as young Engineers. We did not earn as much as we do now. But hey... we had or time of our life. I would catch a bus to KL every opportunities I had. We were be roaming KL streets for foods. We would run up to Genting Highlands Resort for Casino games. We would be out buying grocessories and dished out Burmese goodies. We would play cards overnight... My god... a hell lots of fun...
But one after one got married. Some stay put in KL. Some had gone back home and this friend of mine, Sai joined me in Singapore. We progressed further in our career. Our earned more money. We had less time. We see each other less often. Less fun...
Maybe they wouldn't give much thought on this as they are busy with their families. Their children. Their business.. Maybe we can say they have fulfilled their worldly duties. But I have not???? But till now... I am still unable to make up my mind.. ( or rather already made up my mind to be a single my whole life)..
Well... whatever... But Pals... I really miss you guys are the days we were happy together.... Best wishes...
Lately, we used to see Brad Pitt jetting along with Angelina Jolie to Cambodia, Africa for good causes...and recently Pitt even claimed to have a football team of his children..Amazing...
Never was I think that any other celebrity will follow suit any time soon..
But now, Madonna's involving in building an orphanage/child care center in an Africa Country, Malawi.
And she wants some of her money to go for drilling wells so the orphans will have clean water and no longer suffer from dysentery and waterborne parasites.
The roumour had it she would be adopting some children.
I hope it is indeed right and more wealthy celebrities do the same. Share their wealths with needy people...
I wish I could but for the time being I am still struggling to stand on my own feet. I wonder anyone ( uh..... billionaires) would like to adopt me...Of course I won't just sit back and spending away your fortune but in a way, would help you to manage your money.. haha..
Sorry again guys! I failed you guys again and had not been able to update my blog.
Well I am Sean..and it is the name just to bring convenience to friends alike and strangers which I started to use and introduced myself as after I left my first company. Convenience in the sense, burmese names and the way we spell them do not come easy on foreigners' tongues and sound terrible and funny and of course the meanings.. Another reason is that after working for my 1st company for almost a decade, I wanted to leave that decade behind and started afresh. So, here we go..Sai O.K, Sean.
Why Sean and not Tom, Dick or Harry? I tell you. Well you guys used to address me "Sai". So I want it simple, easy and yet not very far from Sai. Then, Sean Connery crossed my mind and the rest is history though I am nothing near the legendary, Sean Connery, in terms of fame, look and wealth or rather every thing.. haha..
Ok... It's just my habit to beat around the bushes before going to what I want to say. Pardon me please and I am so grateful that you guys visit my blog knowing my habit of long-winded and nothing extraordinary to read.
The month of September 06 was so eventful to me or to your very own Sean. Things happened fast and furious. I, myself, don't even have a chance to linger and shock on what happen to me. I was working hard for the company and to overcome all obsticles of the jobs and the next moment I knew I was out of job.
And I am very touched by friends and associates who showered me with concerns, wishes and for linking me with prospective employers. Within 24 hours, I was offered a few jobs and it was kind of difficult to make a choice. After some soul searching, after asking myself what I want for my future, I decided to join a consultancy firm and be consulting Engineer.
I have been on the job for 2 weeks and I think I am right on my choice though I have many more things to learn to go forwards.
Who says we make headlines only at ASEAN meetings and talks?.. Who says our nation GDP is less than that of developed nations' individuals..? Look at the Sale terms and conditions of Sentosa Cove super luxurious living space. And it was meant for high networth individual home and abroad that Singapore is trying to attract. The contenders? Needless to say.. mega riches..Media had it that the Benz, BMW and Lexus cars were such a pity next to Rolls Royces & Lamborghinis. It's nothing. Here we are talking about a closed door auction for 12 prime spots for bunglow. And talking about world riches sipping wines and rubbing shoulders and upped againt each other S$20,000 from based price to secure one of it. Looking at sale brochures! And by just reading how those riches are drived to get hold of the lands. They have money. They want it fast and furious and later raised the bids in grand hundred thousands. I was amazed. I was thrilled though I was just reading the after-the-action paper. Still it was nothing until the conclusion that 8 out of 12 winners are Singaporean and the rest were foreigner. Ok that was it. It was just like another game that the riches play with their money. Just as usual I read on to complete the news...then I was...WHAT!!!!!!!! I read again.. That piece of a sentences stood me up. I rubbed my eyes and read again. I was.. maybe I interpret wrongly... so I started to read the whole sentence again.
"Of 12 successful bidders, 8 were Singaporean and the rest were from Malaysia, India, Indonesia and MYANMAR"
Then.. My mind went busy to list the latest myanmar tycoons. Who could that be? There are no Bill Gates of Myanmar. No steel magnet. And no big corporate that worth the talk or to think. Let's just think he secured the cheapest of the lots. It's still $ 5 millions. ( 4,000,000,000 Myanmar Kyats). wow..I have just been out of the country for a decade or so ...leaving aside those foreign related or JV.. most of the business entities are family run and are not well structured..( of course well connected)..and they do this well to amass this wealth??? Can even outdo more established regional tycoons to shop around...
Well..just like most of my fellow myanmar.... in their previous life, they did many good deeds... so now they are enjoying their deeds... duh....
Guys.. do you want to buy a piece of land on an Singapore Island? Visit HEREand look at the e-brochure.
I don't know, by now, she's changed her number or not yet.... But as far as I know she would be the one and only singer who broadcasted her number together with her signature..
Wow... who wanna talk to a singer with a sexy sultry voice.. Be quick..
And those of you who still didn't know about this website, LEXICONSTAR, visit it.There is a collection of Myanmar celebrities's signatures. It's not for someone of my age but for those of you who may love to collect it..
But I wonder how to come to use the word " HANDSOME" in such a way. " MANLY" is more appropriate instead..But hey... I am not an English professor. It's just my opinion.. Since it is a presfessional website, I mean commercial website which selling ADS space..right.. And I don't really think they need to use an English word there at all..."Chaw" is good enough and well understood...putting an English word there put the whole thing down instead of trendy...(when it is not proper)... And if they choose to use either one. In Myanmar or either "Handsome" alone..It should be clear enough to convey their intention I guess.. Don't take me wrong..It's a beautiful site and I browse through all pages. I just want it to be perfect and proud of it..and wish a lot more Myanmar site on www.
Talking about PPKT, I really think her vocal is great...I watch her MTV, the cover version of AIR SUPPLY's " Making Love Out of Nothing At All"...Fastastic...The Song, the voice and the Showmanship..Energetic... Electric...and Sultry..
Go to PHYU PHYU KYAW THEIN and double click on song no. 6 and enjoy..
Wow wow wow....... After uploading some photos and shooting off a title then I realized that another celebrity again on this page.
Not intentionally though guys. Believe me. I was like listening to radio and her songs was on air. Then I google..."Madonna"...Personally she is my all time favourite singer since her debut album.. Now, she is taking the world by storm with her "CONFESSIONS" Tour. Tickets are all sold out. Say no more I guess. Her biography is well and over documented. So guys Let's just enjoy her musics..And if you wanna know about her..visit HERE ..and THERE
Well... Madonna is going round the world to confess..And her fans, too, got their confessions..
From Elizabeth, South Korea I am an American living in South Korea. I have seen many of Madonna's concerts. Every one of them different from the past. Two years ago, I went to England just to see Madonna not to travel. Her Reinvention Tour was just out of this world. When a fan goes to her concert, you never know what she has in store for you. She is full of surprizes like having dancers fall from the ceiling on ropes, amazing latin american dancers, or even a bull on stage. I wish she could have a concert here in SOUTH KOREA>>> SEOUL>>> This country is great and nothing like any other country she has been to. It would be a new experience for her.
If she doesn't come here this year, I will be heading to Japan for her next concert!!! I expect her to be in leotards doing amazing yoga moves, and for it to be like a live show where the audience feels like they are in the show with her not just watching it! I hope she plays Hung up, what it feels like for a girl, sorry, holiday... Madonna is and always will be the best worldwide entertainer, singer, dancer, actress ever!! I wish Madonna all the best for the CONFESSIONS on a DANCEFLOOR TOUR!!!
From Charles, U.S.A I will be going to the July 2nd concert in New York City. I was so thrilled to be able to get them through ticketmaster. I ended up having to go through brokers in the past. I have been a fan of Madonna since I was 13 and have followed her ever since. I will never forget dancing to her songs on my old boom box in my backyard back in Boston in heat of the summer, especially back in 1987 when I was grooving to "Causing a Commotion". I would love for Madonna to perform my favorite song: "Open Your Heart", I also love "Bad Girl"(one of her best).
You? Having something to confess to her..go HERE to confess and download her wall papers..
At first, the movie " Bend It like Beckham" then.. the world take him from head to toes.... He is an icon. He is in some sense bigger than hollywood stars. Just think about it. I never watch a match in previous world cup or put it this way, football! to me is like people kicking ball in the field. Nothing much to be excited about. But OMG...so much so about this celebrity footballer Beckham in the media and the hype that I come to know about this guy and yes Manchester United, MU. That's all.
Well, as I target my blog to be all things men..I think I am obliged to write something about football, which is all men' favourite but I knew nothing about football other than 2 teams are up against each other to kick and shoot more goals.
But guys, I write something related to football ok..so lets Bend It Like Beckham.
Oh no.." shave it like Beckham" .. A ha..... I don't know whether who is cashing in millions..Beckham himself or the companies that featured hin in their product campaign...
And now...he is launching his signature fragrance "Instint". And there we go " Smell it like Beckham". Take a look at photoshoot that featured a much celebrated couple. And as all you soccer fans out there know that he's been dropped from Team England, and he would have more time to make it up for his family. Will there be more spice between Beckham and Victorai? Or will there be more conflicts just because now there are more chances to discover personal differeces? Sometimes, a little space does wonders in between couples. Don't you think so? In this Era, being a worldly sportman is incredible. Million Bucks a month. And sponsorship and endorsement fees. Sure they have their fair shares of stress and pressure to perform well. What about us? The time we put in, the effort and the pressure? no less either. But our annual compensation package is not even near a fraction of their weekly fees.
Ummmm.. I am not setting up model agency guys..but just wanna share bits & pieces about male models..Myanmar Male Model Scence in particular...
Dreaming to be one when I was in my teen(with zero possibility), I keep tabs on male grooming, male model scences, who is hot and not of the world male models whitin my limited reach all this while. Two decades ago, modelling is non-existence in Myanmar. Movies stars fronted all the commercials and catwalk modelling is very foreign. Through outdated imported magazines and from some translated versions, we learned the glitz, glamour and of course the scandalous stories of super models. [D & G Summer 2007] Well! Apart from having to wear fashionable gears, I would say the travelling and the bucks that come along attracted me. Uh!!!!!! you mean fame? Ummm maybe but at that point of time "fame" was not really in mind ..But hey! funny thing is that I know I am far from being qualified to be a model..let alone supermodel haha... But since we are all entitled to dream whatever we want.. why not..right!!! I know I dont have edgy look and height.. Being hopeless did not put me away from wannabe. I live my life being my own model. Reading...watching all things model whenever I got chances.. groom and dress myself..And those people around me know that I do stand out among the crowds... haha..(But now.. if you see me..please ignore what I said)
OK! rubbish aside, let's go straight to the point why I write this post. When I was about to leave the country back in mid nineties... modelling is all in the rage and everyone on the streets seemed attending modelling courses and shows are all around the corners. Needless to say, quality is nowhere to be found. Any Tom, Dick and Harry became models overnight and disappeared the next. And mostly, sons and daughters of who and who front the shows for only they could afford to buy expensive wares.
Nevermind, it was the infant stage of Myanmar modelling and Fashion Industries. For sure, no one can't make a living out of the catwalk. So I was hoping, over times, things would be better and my fellow Myanmar Men could be out and proud and doing their rounds in Asia if not on the world stages and earning big bucks and jetting around.
To my dismay, this is not happening.I scamble through myanmar model angencies websites, online journals and news. I bought Myanmar Karaoke VCD, view them online. I bought Myanmar Fashion and Entertainment Magazines like never before. It's been a good 2 decades and Myanmar Modelling and Fashion Scence as a whole is still undergrown infant. What's going on? [Ricardo Almeida : Sao Paulo fashion week ss 2007 Runway] Industry is not growing as well as the people of the industry. Tin Moe Lwin and John Lwin are trying hard and still fore-runners. I can feel thier enthusiast and pulses to build up the industry not just to hold their rice bowls but as a passion. Kudos to you guys..
